Rehabilitation centers for the visually impaired (INLB, MABMcKay) and hearing impaired (IRD) have expressed the need to integrate virtual environments into their rehabilitation processes. These environments would make it possible to create rehabilitation situations for patients in a controlled, safe environment. With this mandate, we want to establish a proof of concept that will enable us to link technologies and expertise developed at the Université de Montréal and CRIM to jointly meet the needs for virtual environments in various rehabilitation centers. Our main focus is on visual and auditory rehabilitation.
