Evaluation of a continuous walking exercise using inertial sensors: Application to the triple flexion walking pattern

Intervention area

Mobility

Start date

September 1, 2017

End date

January 1, 2019

The aim of the project is to develop an experimental method and analysis algorithms for the analysis of crouch gait using inertial measurement unit (IMU) data. Crouch gait is the most common walking pattern in people with spastic diplegia, and is characterized by excessive flexion of the hips, knees and ankles (dorsiflexion). Algorithm development will be based on static calibration and recordings made during a 6-minute continuous walking exercise performed at comfortable and fast speeds.
