Intervention area

Smart home

Start date

February 1, 2026

End date

August 31, 2026

The MapAccess project aims to develop an instrumented platform mounted on wheelchairs to collect LiDAR, inertial, and geolocation data in real urban environments. These data will enable the identification, documentation, and mapping of accessibility barriers affecting sidewalk navigation. The project will result in an open and reproducible dataset to support the development of automated detection methods and assist municipalities in improving urban accessibility.
