Proof of concept of a shoulder orthosis based on elastic series actuators

Intervention area

Mobility

Start date

March 1, 2013

End date

September 1, 2014

Active shoulder rehabilitation is generally performed using a 3- or 4-degree-of-freedom orthosis. Electromyographic (EMG) signal analysis is a robust approach to monitoring this type of orthosis. The mandate is to: validate EMG signal processing algorithms and develop a proof-of-concept for a single-degree-of-freedom orthosis for shoulder rehabilitation.
