047 InterfaceHM-FRMI

Evaluation of human-machine interfaces of an intelligent motorized wheelchair in real activities of daily life linked to driving activity by users with physical disabilities

Intervention area

Mobility

Start date

September 1, 2014

End date

August 1, 2015

This mandate follows on from the work of our research team, which to date has developed a prototype FRMI, evaluated the performance of this FRMI with users in a circuit in a clinical setting, but with a voice interface that had been deemed problematic (Boucher et al., 2013). Following the evaluations, it was deemed pertinent to further develop the tactile and “joystick” interface. The ultimate goal of the project is to understand the needs to inform the scientific community about HMI for FRMI as well as to continue to improve the FRMI developed by our team.
