Development of a proof of concept for an upper limb exoskeleton in pediatric rehabilitation

Intervention area

Mobility

Start date

September 1, 2016

End date

September 1, 2018

Most children undergoing rehabilitation have a neuromuscular disease, which generally results in muscular weakness and coordination problems on a day-to-day basis. Particularly in the upper limbs, these disorders limit these children’s ability to carry out many daily activities, such as drinking, eating, drawing and writing, on their own, despite existing technical aids. In this context, an upper-limb exoskeleton would provide the necessary complement of muscular strength. The aim of this mandate is to develop a proof of concept of an upper limb exoskeleton for children undergoing pediatric rehabilitation.
