The objective of the proposal is to develop an intelligent active desk to prevent and treat musculoskeletal discomforts and impairments (low back pain, neck and shoulder pain) associated with computer work. As sedentary behaviors are more present than ever and office workers spent a majority of their time seated in front of a screen, an active sit to stand desk, capable of detecting the presence of the worker and changing automatically the posture of the worker according to optimum temporal exposure parameters, could be helpful in reducing musculoskeletal discomforts and impairments in the context of prevention and work rehabilitation.
