Start date

End date

Healthy seniors 65 years and older who engage in physical activity report improved quality of life (Roberts et al., 2021), while a stimulating physical and cognitive environment helps maintain high brain function (Reuter-Lorenz and Park, 2014).The objective of this proposal is to test the first prototype of TRIVEL’s Intelligent Semi-Recumbent Stationary Bike (VI-TRIVEL) in a motion analysis laboratory in order to quantify the physical and physiological effects of the initial motor pedalling modes. Ultimately, (in the middle of the year 2023) the goal is to deploy and test this technology that allows personalized training in various living spaces and rehabilitation settings in order to demonstrate that it improves physical activity levels of the healthy elderly as well as those with motor disabilities.
